Dried Organic Hyssopus Officinalis Bunch - Dried Herb.

Sustainably grown using organic methods and hand picked from our ancient woodland in the Highlands of Scotland. 

Medicinal Uses (Teas & Infusions)
  • Respiratory Health: Excellent for chesty coughs, sore throats, bronchitis, and catarrh due to its expectorant properties (like marrubin).
  • Digestive Aid: Helps with sluggish digestion, wind, colic, and loss of appetite.
  • Circulation & Heart: Promotes circulation and has been used for blood pressure regulation and cardiovascular health.
  • Anti-inflammatory: Can reduce inflammation and pain from bruises, arthritis, or skin irritations when applied topically or in baths.
  • Fever: Promotes perspiration, helping to cool feverish condition
Culinary Uses
  • Flavoring: Adds a unique floral, minty, and slightly bitter taste to stews, fish, meats, vegetables, salads, and sweets.
  • Drinks: A key ingredient in liqueurs like Chartreuse and absinthe.
  • Sweet Treats: Infused into custards, syrups, jams, or sauces.
Other & Traditional Uses
  • Purification: Historically used for cleansing rituals (Biblical references) and believed to ward off evil spirits, so it's hung in homes.
  • Baths & Aromatherapy: Used in baths for skin issues or for its pleasant fragrance and purifying scent. 

How to Use Dried Hyssop
  • Tea: Steep 1-2 teaspoons of dried herb in a cup of boiling water for 5-15 minutes, strain, and sweeten with honey if desired. Click here to see our natural honey, untreated, unheated and unpasteurised.
  • Gargle: Steep for longer (20 mins), strain, add salt, and gargle for sore throats.
  • Bath: Wrap a handful or two in a muslin cloth or similar then add to bath.
